Hello and welcome to our website!
Our names are Ian Morris and Jonathon Rewcastle. We live in in the North East of
England and have been successfully show/breeding Persian & Exotic Short-haired cats for over 25 years now under the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF) registered prefix ''Heathrose''. Our success
has seen many Champions, Grand Champions, Imperial Grand Champions, UK Grand Champions,
Best of Breed, Best in Show, National and Supreme winners including ''Supreme Kitten'' & ''Best Of
Variety Persian Adult'' at The Supreme Cat Show 2010 (the Cat Fancy's equivalent of Crufts).
Working towards excellence, we endeavour to responsibly breed PKD Negative Pedigree Persian &
Exotic cats with substance, health and vigour, bold open expression, and profuse coats (ALWAYS with exceptional temperaments for which our cats are renowned for in their judge's cat show critiques).
Where we were once known for show/breeding Whites, Bi/Tri-colours and Self's; our direction for many
year's now has focused on the show/breeding of Solids, Tabbies and Smokes (which we hope we have contributed to the moving forward and improvement of these under represented/declining breed
colours; and will still be continuing to do so for many years to come incorporating our own foundation, yesteryears pioneering and today's top progressive international winning bloodlines which include:
Artemis, Athelstones, Bar B, Biboukatz, Bolo, Bocassanas, Callisto, Candirand, Cattrax, Countrygirl,
Divarosa, Du Monet, Eddore, Finchfield, Gwendero, Hankypanky, Harwood, Hohenbuchau, Ivywall,
Iwanda, Joleigh, Korsviks, Kyaleen, Lamettas, Marcandiere, Marhei, Misty, Mysharas, Mystic Hill,
Palmetto, Petovia, Pinkfantasy, Purrty Katz, Red Sky, Rocawen, Ronlyn, Ruby Rose, Sarouk,
Saqqarah, Sipora, Soft Magic, Spookipaws, South Paw, Tufftons, Vickits, Westholme
To mention but a few...
As ethical breeder's, we breed primarily for the purpose of showing for ourselves; however, not all of
our kittens will meet our strict criteria or are suitable in our breeding programmes. This gives opportunity
for "pet" kittens to become available and on other occasions, show/breed/stud quality (please note that whether going as a pet or for breed/showing, we insist on a care agreement/contract being signed).
Experience has taught us that we don't have to rely on quantity to produce quality and so we only
undertake a select number of matings divided up throughout the year. Our cats are first and foremost much cherished companions that live indoors with the exception of some of our stud boy's who other-
wise live in a clean, secure, purpose built cattery with heating, ample room to exercise in and plenty
of toys to play with (who are also brought in the house on a regular basis and given attention).
Now and again we also have retired (spayed) adults that we would like to re-home (this is a result of
our principle to generally not breed our females past the age of 6 years old). As with the homing of our kittens, we look to only place our adult's in permanent, indoor and above all, safe loving homes. We
do ourselves have several neuters; however, to continue to move forward, manage numbers sensibly,
and to prevent inbreeding, it is necessary to do this from time to time (regrettably). This we feel amounts
to responsible breeding; and those interested in offering one of our adults a ''windowsill in the sun''
would indeed receive many years of companionship (our cats living up to good ages).
